Kevin B. Halter, 52, 1429 Edgewater, Chicago Heights, was arrested on Friday, May 7th at11:52 p.m. in the parking lot of Circle K Shell, 1350 Dixie Highway, for possession of Methamphetamine; possession with intent to deliver Methamphetamine and possession of Methamphetamine precursor. Police were investigating a suspicious vehicle parked in the lot and observed Halter slumped over in the driver’s seat and later discovered about 89 grams of Methamphetamine. Police also confiscated several other items used to manufacture Methamphetamine, including several packages of pseudoephedrine. Halter was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility in Joliet to await a bond hearing. All 3 charges are Class 1 felonies, carrying a sentence of 4 to 15 years in prison and/or a fine up to $25,000 on each charge.

Noel G. Krull, 21, 121 W. Taylor, Grant Park, Illinois, was arrested on Sunday, May 9th at 5:07 p.m. at Dixie Highway and Indiana Avenue for driving while license suspended.

Police responded to a structure fire at “Somewhere in Time” 614 Gould Street, on Saturday, May 8th at 8:00 p.m. A fire broke out in the upstairs apartment and was eventually put out by the fire department. The State Fire Marshall, fire department arson investigators and Beecher police investigators are continuing the investigation into the fire. Patrons were in the bar when the fire broke out but no one was injured. A safe was reported missing from the apartment and police are investigating a burglary.

A counterfeit $20.00 bill was discovered at Huey’s Phillips 66 station on Thursday, May 6th at 7:49 a.m., where a woman had presented it for a purchase. Police interviewed the individuals involved and took the counterfeit bill as evidence. No charges have been filed.
